Heidelberg Materials is seeking a responsible, safe, and dependable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our local team. As a Mechanic you will be responsible for the preventative and repair maintenance, and troubleshooting on Ready Mix Concrete trucks and some light/heavy mobile equipment.

What you’ll get to do:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on commercial trucks and transport equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, manufacturer, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Collaborate with other team members to optimize fleet performance and minimize downtime.
- Perform other miscellaneous mechanical, maintenance and shop duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills:
- Red Seal required.
- Proficiency in servicing transmissions, rear ends, running gear, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on mixer trucks is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to attain a Class 3 driver's license.
- Must possess a complete set of mechanics tools.
- Understanding of CVSE inspection requirements.
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
- Experience with formal maintenance programs an asset.
- Knowledge of safe work procedures and ability to follow Company policies.
- Requires lifting, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, working at elevated heights, at times in tight and awkward positions.
- Able to work Day/Afternoon shifts between Monday to Saturday and where overtime applies.
- Demonstrated ability to offer positive leadership with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly and safely in a high production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage breaks including time spent using personal electronic device(s)
