Payroll Administrator Location: Remote or Hybrid (Corporate Office - Huntsville, AL) Description: Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing for multiple states. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where accuracy and efficiency are paramount. This position reports to our EVP, Administration and works closely with Finance, Human Resources and other Business and Team Leads, as needed, as well as our Third-Party outsourcing vendor. This position is contingent upon contract award. Job Responsibilities: * Oversee the payroll process in its entirety, to include supplemental pay (i.e. commissions, bonuses)
* Ensure legal compliance with relevant laws and regulations
* Set up and/or close payroll tax accounts in various states, as needed
* Handle payroll inquiries from employees
* Collaborate with HR and Accounting departments to resolve any payroll discrepancies
* Maintain accurate payroll documentation records
* Ensure employee account updates are completed, and backup documentation is stored for payroll review. * Prepare and/or submit post payroll reporting to include, but not limited to:
* 401k * Workman's Comp
* FSA, HSA
* Garnishments
* Assist third-party payroll team with year-end payroll and 1099 tasks
* Assist with payroll related audits to include, but not limited to:
* 401k
* Workman's comp
* Payroll portion of Financial Audits or Reviews
* Payroll portion of DCAA Incurred Cost Submission
* Other related accounting and/or HR tasks, as needed Required Skills: * Proficiency in payroll software
* Prefer Deltek Costpoint experience
* Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
* Knowledge of and/or ability to research various state payroll requirements
* Finite attention to accuracy of detailed data entry
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
* Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
* Dependability and confidentiality are a must
* Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
* Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-tasking and managing time effectively to meet deadlines
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members at all levels in the organization, as well as with vendors, customers, and other business associates
* Must be a U.S. Citizen
