In this role you will be operating sensitive test and analysis equipment in support of various microelectronics research and development activities. Multi-disciplined support to execute the extremely challenging research into resilient and assured microelectronics for application to defense systems. The research requires development of assured design techniques and methods, quantified verification, emulation capabilities, and assurance analyses. The research needs include verification and validation of beyond functional analyses of third-party Intellectual Property (IP) as applied to Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), Embedded FPGA (eFPGA), and Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) domains. Essential Job Responsibilities * Analyze current, past, and future IP landscape * Perform trade-off analysis to enhance application of IPs
* Perform research and analysis of core IP products using simulation tools
* Test and evaluate physical characterization of IPs (performance, emanation, acoustical, optical, and thermal)
* Run simulations of IC within specified hardware platforms
* Integrate and run simulations to verify functionality of IC over performance, power, security, and trust
* Perform application-specific emulations
* Perform accelerated digital design research and analysis
* Develop recommended algorithms and capabilities to implement algorithms for accelerator architecture
* Perform microelectronic, Analog Mixed Signal (AMS), PCB, and RF research to identify niche areas, emerging architectures, and developing concerns and architect and assemble designs
* Research trends of digital system design involving ASICs, FPGAs, and COTS components
* Develop test plans and procedures for characterization, validation, and verification of microelectronics components according to their operation as part of a system
* Test evaluation and characterization engineering to contribute to overall assurance of microelectronics through generation of data artifacts associated with electronic characterization, physical analysis and application specific reliability
* Research commercial fabrication facilities and methodologies to leverage commercial microelectronics design fabrication capabilities, develop advanced III-V semiconductor fabrication capabilities, enable HI of disparate technologies, explore advanced packaging concepts and facilitate fabrication process of high-mix, low-volume, and boutique technologies
* Research objectives surrounding integration and development of brass board and prototype demonstrators incorporated into a cohesive system and the resolution of associated challenges through the use of model-based simulation techniques for multi-physics (i.e. electrical, thermal, mechanical) static and dynamic modeling, characterization, high-level simulation, systems engineering, product and process improvement, and project management.
Minimum Qualifications * 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
