Position Title: Agricultural Engineer/TechnicianLocation: Berks County Conservation District - Leesport, PA 19533Salary Range: $50,000 to $55,000 Annual Gross Agricultural Engineer/TechnicianExplore a fulfilling career with BCCD and make a positive impact on Berks County’s environment and agricultural community!  Berks County Conservation District (BCCD) is hiring a full-time Agricultural Engineer/Technician who will provide technical assistance to Berks County’s Agricultural Community, specifically Best Management Practice (BMP) design and implementation. This individual will work closely with other Conservation District and Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) staff. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:Provide technical assistance in the planning, design, and construction of engineered best management practices (BPM).Prepare designs of agricultural conservation practices and water quality best management practices (BMPs), which are site-specific and require coordination among various groups and individuals.Provide engineering assistance in conducting inventory and evaluation (I&E) investigations. Position Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or technical training required in agriculture engineering, civil engineering, engineering technology or other related field.Agricultural background or experience preferred.Skilled in survey, data collection, topographic map development, CADD and specification writing.Ability to apply engineering principles and new technologies in order to design and provide construction quality assurance for BMPs for various programs the District administers.Strong communication skills to discuss and explain BMP practices with stakeholders and partners.Candidate must possess a valid PA driver’s license. Conditions of Employment:Work is performed indoors and outdoors, often under adverse weather conditions.Must have the ability to traverse rough terrain.
