Compensation Range:

Anticipated Base compensation rate is in the range of $62.88 - $73.36 / Hour depending on qualifications and experience.

*12 hour shifts at Huntington Health are overtime-based (not a straight time rate for all 12 hours). Therefore, employees who work a full 12-hour shift will be paid their base rate for 8 hours AND overtime (1.5) for hours up to 12.

757001 Cardiology Admit & Recovery

Expectations:

Responsible for coordination of care to meet identified needs of the patient/family. Supervises the management of patient care utilizing critical thinking and nursing process, discharge planning, resource identification, linking and scheduling patients with required services, monitoring care delivery, advocating for the patient, care planning and evaluating outcomes. Coordinates patient care across the health care continuum, and assists other team members with meeting individual patient needs. The Cardiac Nurse provides quality nursing care to meet the needs of the pre admit and recovery of Cath Lab/Electrophysiology patients and Pre, Post, and Intraprocedure care for patients undergoing TEE and Cardioversion. This position may require flexibility of hours to meet the needs of the department and hospital.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree (BSN) required. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion within 2 years of date of hire or date of transfer to an RN position. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum 1 year of current experience in acute care area of expertise/equivalent service area, 2 years preferred.
Minimum two years ICU/CCU, PACU or Cath Lab experience, preferred.
Must successfully pass the Basic Dysrhythmia course curriculum within 21 days of hire. Basic computer skills/experience with computerized documentation systems required.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association

SKILLS:
1. Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, use of critical thinking. 2. Ensures each patient's readiness for procedure via assessment and documentation. Reports any abnormal results to proceduralist and/or anesthesiologist. 3. Knowledge and use of the Universal Protocol. 4. Procedural sedation knowledge and experience of recovery phase 5. Provides post procedure monitoring and documentation. 6. Establishes readiness for discharge (in conjunction with Physician order and standardized procedure) and provides patient education and written discharge instructions. 6. Advanced hemodynamic monitoring experience 7. Knowledge and skills for IV access and care. 8. Cardiac prep for various procedures. 9. Venous and arterial line management skills including percutaneous vascular closure devices and line pulls. 10. Maintains credentials for and performs Point of Care Testing (POCT).
