The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport Division (NUWCDIVKPT) Detachment Pacific (Code 04/TDC) functions as NUWC's forward presence in the Middle Pacific, Guam, and Western Pacific (WESTPAC) providing Detachment/Site Management in accordance with the Commanding Officer's (CO) letter of delegated authority to provide for program management, planning, policy, and execution of assigned programs and facility operations at the Detachment; monitor Safety and Occupational Health (SOH), physical and information security, personnel administration, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and professional development and morale, environmental compliance, appropriate interaction with all levels of Government and public affairs functions, site and area coordination for emergency preparedness, facilities management and space utilization, site material readiness, proper use of Government equipment and proper expenditure of funds, and adherence to good management practices and controls; manage the Detachment/On-Site Office (OSO); perform Navy programs duties under authority; manage military personnel allowance in accordance with Navy regulations, including Article 15 authority (non-judicial punishment); and serve as the Command's representative to the local installation CO or facility host in negotiating for utilities, security services, and facility maintenance. Divisions supported within this task are Hawaii Fleet Test and Operational Assessment Division (Code 24), Pearl Harbor Torpedo Division (Code 34), and Fleet Technical Support Division (Code 45). Reporting to the Program Manager, the Computer Operator IV will support the detachment providing specialized technical support for computers, servers, and networks, to include technical support to end-user notifications of systems outages or problems on computer systems, VOIP phones, networks, wide area connectivity, software applications, peripherals, and scanners on the Hawaii Detachments Support Services contract. This position is located in Honolulu, HI. What You'll Do * Manage network and server infrastructure: Utilizing software, hardware, and automation to increase efficiency and productivity. * System Administration (Linux & Windows) * Tier I - III Network and Customer Support * Utilize Tools such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, WSUS (Windows Server Update Services), Tenable.sc (Nessus/ACAS), Evaluate-STIG, McAfee products, Computer imaging and maintenance, etc. * Create baseline images for both Windows 11 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. * System wide upgrades of software and devices. * Engineer, manage, and implement network & server infrastructure. * Quality System ISO 9001:2015 Registered and Certified. * Research, design, and introduce new and developing technologies to the network. * Perform backup and recovery operations. * Maintain activity logs, provide period status to end-user, and track incidents to closure. * Notify system owners and users of system outages and provide periodic status until problem is resolved. * Liaison with organizations corporate help desk on troubleshooting failures and escalating issues that cannot be addressed locally. * Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems. * Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups. * Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access. * Bid and proposal support if requested. * Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications: * An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position. Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance Undergo SSBI Tier 5 investigation). * HS Diploma required. * Three (3) or more years of experience supporting information technology, system administration, hardware, and software support in unclassified environments. * CompTIA Security+ * Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills. * Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Demonstrated problem-solving skills. * Must possess strong time management skills. * Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment. * Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking. * The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds. * The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as in performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area or on-board submarines and in weapon facilities. * ~10% travel required. * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. Desired Qualifications: * Associates and/or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field desired. * Experience with Government or Military correspondence and office work is desired. * CCNA certification is desired. * Current Windows Operating System Certification desired.
