Under general supervision, the Director Diagnostic Cardiology plans, develops, and implements the provision of a wide variety of very sophisticated cardiovascular diagnostic services according to established medical practice and institutional policies and procedures, upon the direction of the medical staff. * Masters degree in related field OR obtained within 18 months of hire. 

* 5 years of full time experience in cardiac ultrasound or diagnostic/invasive cardiovascular services and have a minimum of 3 year prior supervisor experience required. 

* Registry in either ARRT or ARDMS required. 

* Must be knowledgeable of the scope of services provided by this department. 

* Working knowledge in the operation of personal computer equipment, particularly as it related to the use of computerized systems employed in the specialized equipment used within the department. 

* Must have experience with Cardiology PACS system.

The Director Diagnostic Cardiology responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

* Attends meetings at all Metro facilities as appropriate 

* Completes job duties and serves customers efficiently and resourcefully to result in customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness. 

* Maintains appropriate records of procedures performed by departments inclusive of related billing activities. 

* Performs training, supervision, and evaluations of all subordinate personnel, assuring compliance of all staff personnel to established policies and procedures of the department and institution. 

* Plans, coordinates, and directs activities of the departmental employee work schedule. 

* Interviews and hires applicants for positions. Ensures department staff are managed effectively, including hiring scheduling, training, performance evaluations and competency and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions. 

* Oversees the departments operating and capital equipment/improvements budget. 

* Develops multiple department budgets, fiscal accountability and achieving financial goals/results 

* Evaluates equipment and clinical techniques for recommendation for purchase of implementation. 

* Evaluates, according to established JCAHO standards, the quality of services performed by the department and maintains accurate and complete documentation. 

* Reviews departmental policies and procedures and makes recommendations for changes and updates. 

* Monitors the evaluation of department activities as part of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program. 

* Oversees process for obtaining and maintaining accreditation status from accreditation organizations (ICAEL, ACR) 

* Ensures departmental adherence to established clinical and administrative policies, procedures, and practices. 

* Conducts regular employee performance appraisal evaluations. 

* Monitors the activity of the outreach clients on the EKG and Cardiology PACS management systems. 

* Oversees the Cardiology PAC's system. Monitors billing processes for all departments. 

* Meets regularly with Medical Directors for each specific department to discuss operations and align with INTEGRIS and IHH strategies. 

* Serves as point of contact for affiliates and external customers that utilize INTEGRIS Diagnostic Systems 

* Provides training and acts as liaison for issue resolution with all INTEGRIS Diagnostic Cardiology systems 

* Provides support and training to cardiologists and surgeons as needed for remote access to Diagnostic Cardiology systems. 

* Develops and coordinates physician reading panels annually for Unassigned Echos and EKG interpretation for continuous coverage. 

* Captures and provides accurate RVU data from diagnostic procedures for cardiologists 

* Assists with development and maintenance of agreements with multiple sites for Mobile Echo services.

High risk to infectious diseases through the performance of clinical activities, (i.e. HIV, TB, Hepatitis B, MRSA). Job function places the incumbent in direct contact with body secretions and fluids on a frequent basis. The impact ranges from minor to lethal infectious disease being communicated to the employee. Needle sticks contact with blood or other body fluids in performance of services rendered to patients Frequent exposure to strong cleaning/disinfecting agents in application of routine, daily job functions. Must wear protective clothing and equipment such as goggles, mask, gloves, etc. Exposed to offensive odors. Noisy work environment with frequent interruptions. Occasionally long work hours and call backs.
