Location & Travel: The Backend Developer position will be a fully on-site (5x/week) role based at CENTCOM or USSOCOM in Tampa, FL or fully on-site (5x/week) at a SCIF in the National Capital Region. Security Clearance: The Backend Developer must be a United States Citizen and hold a current DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance. Mission - ADVANA Employees are required to follow all company and customer site COVID-19 protocols. Responsibilities As a backend developer, you know that a good site or system needs the right combination of clean code, APIs, analytics, and infrastructure to develop a user-focused solution. We're looking for an experienced back-end developer with the software engineering skills it takes to identify potential risks, contribute to solution development, and create efficient and effective systems for our clients. You will use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver solutions. Using your software engineering experience, you'll work with the development team to create custom tools, systems, and sites with consistent performance and scalability. * Performs implementation, regular problem solving, maintenance and support for agile software development to modernize systems.
* Applies advanced consulting skills and/or extensive technical expertise.
* Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction; mentors and may supervise team members.
* Concentrates on building and maintaining the technology needed to power the components which enable the user-facing side of enterprise applications databases, conceptualizing and implementing data storage solutions, running performance testing and benchmarking, and optimizing data performance.
Qualifications * Experience working with Software Design Patterns
* Experience or willingness to learn working with Software Development UML Diagrams
* Familiarity with data transformation, SIPR porting of data and programs, and SIPR-domain programming
* Preferably has experience with ADVANA, Agile, Jira, and * Python Unit Testing (reduced onboarding/integration time)
* Preferably has experience and desire to develop Machine Learning programs to support future analytics development
* 8+ yrs of Python experience
* 8+ yrs working with Object Oriented Programming
* 5+ yrs of SQL experience
* 3+ yrs of Databricks experience
* 3+ yrs of Pyspark/Pandas API on Spark (formally known as Koalas)
