SENIOR TEST ENGINEER - HYBRID WITH SECURITY CLEARANCE

Responsibilities Job Description: The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test plans and strategies to ensure the quality and functionality of complex systems and software. They collaborate closely with development teams to identify and resolve defects, while also leading test automation efforts to streamline processes. Additionally, they mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous process improvements, ensuring robust and efficient testing methodologies. This role is mostly remote, but will require travel to MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL as needed. Job Duties Include (but not limited to): * Perform unit functional testing on all software/applications developed by the software development team * Develop Test Strategy understanding the scope, system flow and different aspects of the functional and non- functional requirements * Develop Performance test strategy and plan and lead the execution * Ensure that Quality processes are followed and that defects discovered during unit testing are fixed and retested before promoting to system testing * Develop and institute automated software testing to perform system tests, regression testing, and performance testing * Engineer and implement solutions for problems or software enhancements as required to augment the development team during surge periods * Write code, test, and debug new software or make enhancements to existing software as required to augment the development team during surge periods * Work closely with the DCGS-SOF solutions architect, systems engineers, database administrators, and other software engineers in developing and integrating software solutions into the DCGS-SOF baseline * Develop and perform peer reviews of user manuals and other required documentation supporting the development lifecycle * Participate in Scrum meetings and sprint planning Qualifications Required Skills & Experience: * 8 + years of experience with Python, JAVA, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS * 8+ years of experience performing Software Quality Assurance (SQA) * 8+ years of experience with software design, development, integration, and testing with expertise in Zephyr, QTest, or Azure DevTest Lab * Strong skills using Selenium * Experience working in an Agile development environment * Experience working with the J2EE modern microservice, data analytics application architecture * Experience working with database administration and design * Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Desired Skills: * Excellent communication skills; effective listening skills and follow through * Ability to independently and as a member of a team resolve software problems * Detail oriented and organized; able to drive solutions using the software development life cycle * Team player able to work with a project manager, solutions architect, other developers, and customers * Cloud (AWS, Azure), Python, Java, SQL, NOSQL database expertise Education & Certifications: * Bachelor's degree in IT curriculum and 8 plus years of experience; or Master's and 2 years of experience; 20 years' experience can be used in lieu of Education ? * Security+ Certification Security Clearance: * Secret Clearance is REQUIRED (with a willingness to get a Top Secret Clearance)
