NETWORK SPECIALIST I (CABLE PLANT) WITH SECURITY CLEARANCE

Responsibilities The Network Specialist I (Cable Plant) will be in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Command in Panama City, Florida. working with the NSWC PCD Enterprise Architect in the installation, troubleshooting and repair of the NSWC PCD networks infrastructure, to include NSWC PCD RDT&E and NMCI and to diagnose physical network connectivity problems. * Leads the installation of cable racks, conduit, Panduit and other support structures for the protection and aesthetics of cables. * Provides technical solutions for the installation of new cabling, redesigns, and projects that require cable infrastructure. * Tests cable for signal quality, continuity and availability. * Performs cable plant troubleshooting, fabrication and installation to include, CAT 5/6, registered jack (RJ)-11, RJ-45 termination, and basic fiber optic, media converters, copper/fiber modems repair/troubleshooting procedures. * Provides technical direction & guidance to level I Network Specialists Cable Plant involved modifications, and the development or migration of network-based systems. * Creates and maintains network diagrams with Microsoft Visio. * May act as network task lead of intermediate, junior &/or entry level Network Specialists for specific short-term configuration and deployment projects. Qualifications Education: HS diploma or equivalent Experience and Requirements: * One (1) year of related experience preferred. * Know ledge of cable plant complete copper and fiber optic subsystem deployed to transmit electrical and optical signals between acti ve communication equipment. * Proficient in MS Visio and network diagramming.
