Jackson HealthPros is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to assist physicians and nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist will prepare the operating room, sterilize and set up instruments, anticipate the surgeon’s needs during cases, participate in counts and OR turnover, and support safe handling of specimens and sharps. The role requires adherence to aseptic technique, participation in emergency call rotation, and collaboration with surgeons, nursing staff, and other clinical team members.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- Current basic life support (BLS) certification.
- State registration with the applicable State Regulatory Agency where required.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and ability to maintain professional composure in emergent situations.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 75 pounds as needed; adequate hearing and visual acuity, including color vision.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Willingness to participate in emergency call rotation and follow safety procedures for medication labeling, specimen handling, radiation/laser safety, and infection control.
- Familiarity with instrument sterilization, case cart review, and preparation/processing of surgical instruments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduation from a certified school of surgical technology.
- Two years of operating room experience as a surgical technologist or certified OR tech.
- Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 0600-1530.
- Schedule: Days.
- May be required to participate in a varied work schedule and emergency call rotation.
