Join our travel Physical Therapist team in Montgomery, AL. Provide acute care rehabilitation in a busy hospital setting. You will evaluate and treat patients across trauma, orthopedics, neurology, cardiac, post-operative, ICU, ED, and MedSurg populations. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and adaptability to varied patient needs. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
  • Active Alabama Physical Therapy license required to start the assignment.
  • BLS certification required from AHA or ARC.
  • MSPT or DPT required.
  • Acute care experience preferred. Candidates without acute care experience will be considered if willing to be trained and coached.
  • Ability to manage high-volume caseloads (typical patient ratios noted as 10–12 per therapist and 15 units per day).
  • Comfort working with trauma, ortho, neuro, cardiac, post-op, ICU, ED, and MedSurg patients.
  • Adaptable, coachable, and team-oriented mindset as required by the client.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cerner/PowerChart EMR.
  • Experience working in Level II Trauma Center or similar high-acuity hospital settings.
  • Previous travel therapy experience is preferred but not required.


Assignment Details

  • Standard hours per week: 40.
  • Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift.
  • Weekend rotation: approximately once per month.
  • Orientation: 3 days in department. Additional 1:1 support with a Rehab Aide during initial weeks.
  • Floating: Caseload may include any area within the hospital including trauma, orthopedics, neuro, MedSurg, ICU, and ED.
  • Holiday expectations: May be asked to assist with coverage for major or minor holidays per policy.

Impacting Patient Care

Work in a 492-bed hospital with Level II Trauma Center designation, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center capabilities. Your role will support acute and high-acuity patient populations and contribute to efficient throughput by performing initial evaluations and timely interventions across units. Effective teamwork with CNAs, reception/HUC, charge nurses, and other support staff is expected to optimize patient outcomes.
