Major Duties & Responsibilities: Function as a junior technical expert for network engineering and administration: • Install, configure, operate, and maintain network equipment such as cable, switches, routers, network monitoring devices, network management platforms. • Identify and analyze network issues. • Provide network engineering and technical services on AFOSI operational enclaves, AFOSI to AFNET points of presence and local testing network. • Build and implement network solutions, install, and maintain network equipment, and troubleshoot/resolve network issues. • Develop and maintain network baseline documentation in accordance with configuration management standards. Video Teleconference (VTC) Operations and Maintenance - VTC O&M consists of tasks such as routine, preventive, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions required to keep the VTC infrastructure in an operational state. It also includes the task of monitoring bridge operations and assisting customers in establishing VTC sessions. Responsible for configuration and operation of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Global Video System (GVS) hardware assigned to AFOSI and located within the Russell Knox Building and located in the various Conference Rooms. Qualifications: • 3 years of experience in IT field, with at least one year of experience in network engineering/administration. • One year experience in VTC Operations and maintenance. • Working knowledge of Terminal Access Controller Access-Control System (TACACS). • Working knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), SolarWinds is a plus. • Familiarity with terminal emulators such as PuTTY and Secure Combined Rlogin Telnet (CRT). • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining network equipment with thorough knowledge of routers and switches. Experience with Cisco Multilayer network routers and switches. • Experience with network monitoring and management using an automated solution. • Able to provide technical guidance and direction to system administrators and help desk technicians. • Working experience with applying and documenting DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) • Must have a TS/SCI clearance or be SCI eligible. • Must be certified at IAT Level II (e.g., CCNA Security, Security+, or other certification satisfying DoD 8570 certification requirements). Desired additional qualifications: • Cisco certification • Experience with USAF IT environment and networks • Must have good communication skills and an ability to conceptualize network infrastructures. Able to work independently or as part of a team and interact professionally within all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen.
