Adheres at all times to Animal Welfare and Bio-Security protocols, guidelines, and procedures at all times.Essential Responsibilities:Basic sow/gilt handling: feeding/watering/movingOperating machinery and equipmentAssisting with farrowing (birth)Assist with breeding (artificial insemination)Handling and using chemicalsVaccinating and medicating sows and pigletsCleaning, afterbirth, dead pigs, scraping Ability to use computer equipment: hand held devices and electronic wandsWork with Data Tech on getting info to them, Daily info, CorrectionsTreatment cardsRecording on information on cardsEar taggingSafety meetingsAnimal welfare adherencePower washingScraping feedersCheck feed system and fill linesMaintenance reported to managementStun gun use and maintenanceHousekeeping dutiesAny other tasks asked by Assistant or ManagerRequired Qualifications: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAvailable to work every other weekendMust be able to read/comprehend English and authorized to work in the U.S.Good math skills.Good mechanical aptitude.Ability to bend, push and pull, and lift 60 lbs.Walk 90% of the day.
