JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. JOB SUMMARY -- ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS/DUTIES An Engineer IV serves as a technical advisor responsible for a broad program involving development, budgeting, scheduling, project management, and installation of systems. Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties: Perform pre, post and thru flight inspections of radar guided and infrared guided missile system employed on fighter aircraft or equivalent systems
Engineer will perform installation, inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, configurations, operations, and test of various radar guided and infrared guided missile system in accordance with established operating procedures to ensure safety of flight
Engineer uses common and complex test instruments: digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, oscilloscopes, high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment
Engineer will process and analyze high speed data from test missile on specialized work station
Engineer applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely be referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents
Other duties as assigned or required DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS 5-7 years demonstrated, recent Radar guided and infrared guided missile system experience
Must have working knowledge of basic to complex missile signal processing and guidance
Must have working knowledge of aircraft to missile interface to include but not limited to missile preparation, initialization, launch sequence, fly out and end game
Must know theory and basic principles of operation of engines, accessories and components, telemetry, theory of flight and electronic flight controls
Must be capable of using and reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and data tables
Must be capable of understanding and adhering to AFOSH, OSHA, and/or USAF equivalent aviation maintenance standards
Should be versed in test conduction utilizing telemetry with displays and real time TM data
Should have a working knowledge of basic ECM techniques and how a radar guided missile reacts to them
Should have a working knowledge of IR countermeasures and how the missile counter counter measures (CCM) processes them
Must have a four year degree or high school diploma with relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum in a relevant career field REQUIREMENTS -- EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 8 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of 6 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum 4 years of related engineering experience are required for this position. In addition, an Engineer IV must possess the following qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components
Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty area
Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools
Well-developed leadership skills
Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad prospective
Excellent communication and analytical skills
Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines. SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $85,633.60 to $132,059.20 annually.
