Wage range: $21 to $23/hour
EVE shift, 4:00 pm to 12:00 am
Either Tues-Sat or Sun to Thurs (one weekend day required)
Shift Differential for qualifying hours (11 pm to 7 am)
Under general supervision, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior of the community per established policies, procedures, Company standards of quality, cleanliness, resident satisfaction, safety and security and regulatory agency requirements. Demonstrates and promotes service excellence and patient confidentiality at all times.
Work Duties:
- Strips, seals, waxes and buffs floor surfaces and performs daily floor maintenance; cleans and shampoos carpets;
- May clean common areas, including public restrooms, elevators, offices, public rooms, beauty salon, resident and employee lounges; dusts, sanitizes and scrubs;
- Empties trash receptacles; may deposit recyclable material in proper receptacles; picks up trash and keeps exterior perimeter clean;
- Takes note of safety concerns and needed repairs; performs repairs or reports to supervisor;
- Pushes a utility cart or drives an electric cart in order to transport tools, materials, supplies and equipment; may assist residents with moving;
- Cleans and washes wheelchairs and furniture;
- Cleans or picks-up accidents in interior or building;
- May fix drapery rods and/or wash windows, depending on LPC;
- Perform event set-ups and tear-downs
- Conducts work tasks safely and in compliance with the facility safety program;
- Provides effective and courteous service to all residents, guests and co-workers;
- Promotes and protects the rights of each resident;
- Performs other related work as required.
Lead Duties:
- Monitor quality control/performance of team
- Communication between Sup and Team
- Availability to fill in shifts
- Contributes to Hiring/Performance reviews, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge
- The standard methods, materials, and equipment employed in custodial work and safe work practices relating to custodial equipment and cleaning agents;
- Knowledge of floor cleaning machines.
- Methods, materials, tools and standard practices for cleaning and maintaining public buildings
- Preparation, use, and disposal of chemical cleaning agents
- Appropriate use of cleaning agent for varied surface types
- Safety procedures when cleaning and moving furniture

Education –
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience/Training –
- Minimum of one year previous janitorial/custodial or housekeeping experience preferred.
- Minimum of one year lead custodial or supervision
