Position's Pay Range: $44,200-$55,300/sal. depending upon experience

Position Summary

2nd shift Dispatcher. The hours for this position are:

Sunday 2 pm to 1100 pm

Monday 2 pm to 1100 pm

Tuesday 2 pm to 1100 pm

Wednesday 2 pm to 1100 pm

Thursday 2 pm to 1100 pm

In addition, all dispatchers are part of the weekend on call rotation, which is about every 6 to 8 weeks, where you take any emergency calls from midnight Friday night until 0630 Saturday morning and from 6 pm Saturday night until 0630 Sunday morning.

This position is responsible for executing a daily plan for movement of all freight within an assigned area.

Essential Functions
  • Assess customer needs and timing of deliveries
  • Manage daily delivery schedule for drivers, driver utilization
  • Plan deliveries and load plan drivers
  • Receive orders from account managers or directly from accounts/customers
  • Provide frontline customer service for existing accounts
  • Answer all incoming phone calls promptly and courteously
  • Monitor e-mail for incoming changes, updates, and communication between team members and our customers
  • Monitor web portals and customer portals
  • Monitor and update Teams spreadsheets
  • Create and update loads in dispatch system, to include updating load board on a regular basis
  • Divide dispatch responsibilities with other team members
  • Backfill loads as needed, to include assisting other terminals with open loads when you have driver availability
  • Assist with driver breakdowns, absence tracking, misc admin duties


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of dispatching experience
  • Excellent conflict resolution and skills
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
