The Opportunity
KanPak® is seeking a Plant Accountant to support financial operations at our Arkansas City facility. This role plays a critical part in cost accounting, financial analysis, inventory management, and month-end close, partnering closely with plant leadership to drive operational and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cost accounting activities, including standard cost maintenance, BOM review, and variance analysis
- Analyze actual costs vs. standard costs; monitor purchase price variance (PPV)
- Support inventory accounting, reserves, and reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close and financial reporting
- Review manufacturing variances and cost center reporting with management
- Track capital expenditures and complete monthly capital roll-forward
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and labor efficiency reporting
- Prepare required internal and external reports, including dairy inventory and loss/damage tracking
- Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with internal controls
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Controller
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience with P&L Balance Sheet preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; pivot tables and v-look ups for large data sets (Excel required)
- Experience in food or aseptic manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High level of integrity, discretion, and reliability

THE SCHEDULE & SETTING
Shift Times: 8am-5pm
Days: Mon - Fri
Work Environment
Requires climbing ladders/stairs to access tanks and pumps.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requires detection and differentiation of colors, sounds, and smells.
Work involves bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for prolonged periods.
Indoor/outdoor environment with exposure to water treatment equipment, chemicals, and waste handling.
