Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IBM I / LANSA Developer to join our IT team. This role involves the design, creation, modification /configuration, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and documentation of custom internal systems. This is a salaried position with full benefits and a mixture of required time in office and flexible remote hours available.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, code, test, and debug programs using LANSA development tools including; RDML, Visual LANSA, LANSA Web Event, VL Web , LANSA Composer and LANSA Integrator, along with some RPG & CL.
• Utilize LANSA development tools to build and maintain EDI processing interfaces with vendors. This requires mapping standard EDI documents to and from legacy Interface files working closely with trading partners to ensure accurate and timely on-boarding of new EDI trading partners.
• Effective and regular communication with both internal and external customers.
• Analyze business requirements for new development and build technical designs.
• Optimize and enhance existing legacy systems for improved functionality and performance.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for existing applications and users in production.

Requirements

• 5+ years development experience with LANSA tools including; iSeries, Web, Visual LANSA, Composer and Integrator
• LANSA EDI processing and mapping experience, able to utilize LANSA COMPOSER and Altova MAPFORCE products a plus.
• Proficient with IBM i DB2 database.
• Development experience with RPG, CL, HTML, XML & JAVA.
• Working knowledge and Communication Protocols such as: FTP, FTPS, SFTP, HTTP, HTTPS, AS2
• Experience with Microsoft office products.
• Strong SQL skills including embedded SQL, and must be comfortable with creating and working with advanced SQL statements.
• Knowledge of enterprise system functions (e.g. Distribution, Inventory, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Order Entry/Invoicing, PO Entry/Stock Receiving, General Ledger)

• Usually requires a computer science degree. However, equivalent relevant experience may be substituted.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under deadlines.

• Proactive, willingness to learn and develop skills in new technologies.
