Maintenance Manager - Full Time

Position Overview:
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities within the manufacturing plant, ensuring that all equipment, machinery, and systems are maintained in optimal working condition. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising all maintenance tasks to minimize downtime, improve operational efficiency, and maintain a safe and productive work environment. The Maintenance Manager leads a team of maintenance technicians and ensures compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate all maintenance activities—preventive, corrective, and predictive—for manufacturing equipment.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and guide maintenance technicians in daily tasks, ensuring proper execution of work orders, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues affecting plant equipment and systems.
  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring skills development and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with engineering and operations.
  • Develop preventative maintenance programs from the ground up.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules to ensure timely inspections and servicing of critical equipment.
  • Work closely with production and operations teams to minimize production downtime and optimize maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with the MRO buyer to maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies, ensuring that critical items are available and stocked.
  • Ensure that all equipment, machinery, and systems are maintained to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Manage the repair, replacement, or upgrade of plant equipment and machinery as needed.
  • Manage the annual maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and staying within budgetary constraints.
  • Track and report maintenance costs, and recommend cost-saving measures, including process improvements or equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA standards, environmental policies, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by identifying potential hazards, enforcing safety protocols, and conducting regular safety audits.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management regarding the status of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and project progress.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and troubleshooting of plant infrastructure and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance management or supervisory roles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, and industrial systems.
  • Experience with flow wrappers, extruders, packaging equipment, mixers, and conveyors is a plus.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Leadership skills with the ability to lead, train, and mentor a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments to achieve operational goals.
Job Specifications:
  • Job Type: Direct Hire – Full time
  • Salary: $80,000-$100,000 depending on experience
  • Hours: Monday – Friday (flexible start time)
