Clearance Required: Public Trust Knowesis is seeking a Database Developer to perform analytical research support to USAFSAM Department of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM/FE), Aerospace Medicine Studies and Analysis Division (FES), Operational Support Team (FESO). The FESO branch is responsible for supporting embedded medical providers with evidence-based practices and real-time data analytics dashboard of musculoskeletal and mental health risk down to the squadron level. In addition, the FESO branch directs all aspects of an embedded Integrated Operational Support (IOS) training course held at USAFSAM. The team regularly conducts data audits, research and evaluation of programming effectiveness, and tracking of programmatic measures of success. To be eligible for this position, candidates must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements. The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Coordinate with the Analysis of Waiver Risk Evidence (AWARE) data team to develop data processes which access, acquire, transform, and rationalize data from various Application Virtualization Hosting Environment (AVHE) sources into usable maintained data sets monthly. Identify databases required for AWARE analyses from the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Application Virtualization Hosting Environment (AVHE), coordinate with the DHA IT to ensure connection to those databases, develop the appropriate queries and processes to allow that data to be accessed, operate the queries to pull the data into accessible datasets for analysis, and ensure the stability, validity and quality of the data pulled through consistently and rigorously applied validation processes
Acquire knowledge/expertise in the data sets they create, and the DHA data sources they are based on, and provide such knowledge and expertise to analysts as is necessary to ensure analysis is reliable, feasible and completed in a timely manner
Draft reports, prepare, and/or present reports, documents, and/or presentations pertaining to the status of the studies as requested, and meet AWARE project suspenses
Present results of studies or investigations through briefings, technical reports, and publication into scientific journals
Assist in the development of end products such as reports, white papers and briefings
Provide consultation support to the AMWD regarding data products produced by AWARE and other areas within the specified range of their expertise, as needed
Interface with USAFSAM/FESO leadership and staff.
Required Qualifications: Demonstrate advanced skills in database creation, maintenance, validation, and design
Demonstrate advanced skills in SQL or a SQL-based programming language
Demonstrate proficiency in Statistical Analysis System/Enterprise Guide (SAS/EG).
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with medical data is highly desired
Experience working with statistics is highly desired
Experience within a health and visual analytics-related field and working with DAF-related data is desired
