What We’re Looking For:

As a Materials Planner for Kohler Co., you will be responsible for the scheduling of finished goods, sub-assemblies, components, and select externally purchased material (sub-contract, fasteners, packaging material, etc.).  In this role, you will build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to achieve continuous improvements in delivery, quality, and cost.  You’ll be an ideal candidate if you have a solid understanding of ERP systems, MRP, and Pull, as well as basic system set points and their control on planning, and assembly processes and the planning of them.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Create production schedules to support customer service Schedule finished goods, sub-assemblies, and components utilizing MRP planning
  • Manage production orders from start to finish (releasing, sequencing, changes, and shortages)
  • Coordinate production changes with Materials, Purchasing, and Manufacturing personnel
  • Work closely with internal associates to coordinate and execute production Place and maintain orders for on-time delivery for materials under MRP planning
  • Maintain and control SAP master data for Production Scheduling functions Develop and maintain stores for on-time delivery of materials under pull systems
  • Build trust by working in partnership with manufacturing, suppliers, and buyers to reduce lead times and minimum order quantities
  • Focus on the end customer by improving business and supply chain processes
  • Drive continuous improvements for smaller more frequent deliveries, just in time
  • Set high standards of performance by measuring and reducing inventory to increase turns
  • Participate in annual physical inventory as directed by the Manager - Warehouse & Logistics
  • Perform assignments as directed by the Manager - Warehouse & Logistics
  • Participate in safety training and accident prevention

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • 1-3 years working in a materials planning and scheduling in a manufacturing or purchasing environment
  • Previous SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in inventory management, ERP/MRP and KanBan systems preferred
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement, mathematical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Proficient in use of all common computer Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

The salary range for this position is $63,100 - $79,500. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.  Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
