Staff Engineer, New Product Development

Work Mode: Onsite

Location:  Onsite - Brownwood, TX

Opportunity

Responsible for New Product Development initiatives, including design, fabrication and installation for improving existing physical plant facilities and manufacturing systems for Plastics.

Responsibility includes any other project engineering or Quality related work as assigned by Plastics Superintendent

Specific Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee fabrication and installation of new equipment, controls, and machine components.
  • Develop designs for improving mechanical and electrical systems or quality on existing plant equipment.
  • Investigate and follow through with improvements for quality improvements, cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Directs Plastics personnel in the installation or repair of equipment according to specific design guidelines.
  • Work closely with Corporate Engineering, Wisconsin on major equipment or building additions or improvements.
  • Assists in reviewing equipment purchases to ensure that applicable safety requirements are met.
  • Studies and verifies that work being performed by outside contractors meets all required specifications.
  • Develops feasibility studies on new ideas and innovations, which would relate to Quality and manufacturing systems.
  • Prepares status reports on long term and specialty projects.
  • Performs other engineering work as assigned.

Skills/Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering or plant engineering or construction engineering on industrial projects.

The salary range for this position is $98,900 - $125,600. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.  Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
