Job Summary:
Joins metal parts together using tungsten inert gas welding techniques. Work with different types of
metals and welding equipment to fabricate and repair metal structures or products. Fabricate tubular
micrometer frames as well as other small repairs for the facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Welds metal components and parts using specialized equipment such as gas welders and gas torches.
  • Uses electrical currents to create heat and bond metals.
  • Plans work by interpreting blueprints, measure and cut metal pieces, and use heat and pressure to fuse them together.
  • Observes tests on welded surfaces to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Have knowledge of different welding methods such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
  • Possess good hand-eye coordination.
  • Technical expertise.
  • Planning skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Performs work under direct supervision.
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
