Job Title: Quality Technician D Job Code: 14835 Job Location: Columbia, MD Job Description: * Under the direction and guidance of the Manager of Quality Assurance, the Quality Inspector's primary role will be to inspect incoming and in-process electronic assemblies and mechanical hardware. Primary duties will include assisting in the daily departmental functions of inspection and development of procedures and assisting in defect reporting and trend evaluations. Primary location is Columbia, MD with periodic travel to Dulles, VA.
Essential Functions: * Perform inspections on incoming and in-process electronic assemblies and mechanical hardware. * Perform
* Perform IPC-600, IPC-610, and IPC-620 inspections of bare boards CCA's and Cables
* Conducting of source inspections at vendor facilities.
* Perform inspections support order fullfilment in Dulles, VA as needed (travel required).
* Ensure that product is manufactured to the latest applicable configuration documentation.
* Prepare and review data submittal packages for end item deliverables (composed of test data, inspection results, C-of-C's, etc.)
* Prepare Deficiency Reports (DRs) for hardware, software, and documentation issues.
* Maintain, control and process non-conforming material.
* Participate as a member within Change Control Board (CCB) and Material Review Board (MRB); role is interchangeable with QAE when required.
* Assist in defect tracking and evaluation process, including trend evaluation to reduce recurrences. (As directed by the Q.A. Manager)
* Generate Corrective Action Requests (CARs) for vendor quality rejections.
* Assist in coordination of failure analysis efforts.
Qualifications: * Requires advanced job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
* Security Clearance required upon hire: Ability to Obtain
* Security Clearance required for role: Secret
Preferred Additional Skills: * Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
* Familiarty with AS9100/IS9001 * Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, sketches, and test procedures to determine assembly and inspection methods for electrical and mechanical components.
* Ability to record accurate inspection data and write a concise report of findings.
* Good interpersonal skills; pays attention to detail; and ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to use mechanical and electrical measuring instruments (dial calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, etc.)
* Basic understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies.
