Machinist

As the CNC Machinist you will set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and numerical control machines and machining centers to fabricate metal parts.

Starting Pay: $28/hour
Schedule: Full-time

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Fabricate tools, fixtures, and components by interpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements
  • Prepare materials for machining by marking dimensions, selecting and securing tools and fixtures, and setting up machines like mills, lathes, and grinders
  • Set and adjust machine controls for speed, feed, cutting depth, and coolant flow, or input commands for computerized control; monitor operations and troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Conduct trial runs and verify accuracy of machine settings, fitting and assembling parts, and testing for alignment and functionality
  • Install and test machined replacement parts in equipment and machines, ensuring proper operation and performance
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve machining or assembly issues, and provide training and support to manufacturing employees


Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree and 5+ years related experience and/or training preferred, equivalent experience may be considered
  • Specialized training in metalworking or manufacturing preferred. Lathe specific expertise is preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience utilizing HAAS and Okuma CNC Machine controls for lathes and mills preferred
  • Experience and training in CAD/CAM software. Master-Cam with post-processing lathe and mill CNC programs preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to apply design principles while utilizing a keen attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
