Leidos Dynetics is seeking a talented Quality Control Manager for Electrical Manufacturing Products to support commercial, aerospace, and defense manufacturing/production programs at our Huntsville location. The Quality Control Manager for Electrical Manufacturing Products position is responsible for implementing a Quality Control system and team that promotes customer satisfaction. The position will champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to develop an effective Quality Control system for electrical product hardware and systems for high energy weapons, launchers, Hypersonics, and target surrogates for several DoD customers etc.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary quality control authority for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.

  • Previous experience managing Quality Engineers.

  • Manages quality control personnel on a day-to-day basis.

  • Plan quality control staffing needs based on product manufacturing requirements, and delegate activities to Quality Engineer, Technician, and Inspector staff.

  • Establishes and implements metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring Quality Control system effectiveness.

  • Leads root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.

  • Establishes collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality.

  • Develops quality planning methods for all product lines within the plant.

  • Experience in GD&T, interpretation of drawing requirements and understanding of design requirements. 

  • Interacts with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with manufacturing and development personnel.

  • Initiates and implements quality improvement activities as appropriate (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma) to raise the performance of the plant’s product lines.

  • Propose and justify expenditures for new quality equipment or training programs. 

  • Foster a culture of innovation within the quality team, encouraging the adoption of new techniques and technologies that can enhance quality. 

  • Train and mentor staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. 

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential quality issues and ensure continuous production without major disruptions.

  • Reports to Quality Management on quality issues, trends, and losses.

  • Participates in internal and external quality audits.

  • Collaborates with DCMA and other government and/or customer quality assurance organizations

  • Interfaces with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.

  • All other reasonable duties, as assigned.

  • This position manages all Quality Control employees of an electrical manufacturing plant and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that team.

  • Manage the quality department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality standards. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 or more years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have experience in QA/QC systems implementation and/or management in a manufacturing and/or product-based environment.

  • Experience in SMT environment, with a solid understanding of electrical manufacturing and Soldering processes. 

  • Working knowledge of IPC-a-610IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC-J-STD-001 Space Addendum.

  • Understanding knowledge of measurement techniques and experience managing an inspection lab. 

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Management of Quality Engineers.

  • Experience in a QMS compliant with AS9100/ISO9001.

  • Candidates must be a resident of or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Al area.

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and must possess and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASQC is preferred.

  • Experience in leading skilled professionals in a matrix environment.

  • Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint accounting software a plus.

  • Direct experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Quality Module implementation and a plus.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
