The Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a talented Quality & Mission Assurance Auditor to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems within the Leidos Defense Sector. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and following up in relation to audits of the quality management system processes and product-specific processes that align to the requirements of AS9100 and CMMI. This includes audits of activities such as production, calibration, shelf life, human resources, purchasing and supplier evaluation, safety, nonconforming product, and business operations. The applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced R&D environment and in a production environment with minimal supervision.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop audit plans, checklists, and metrics associated with audit events using strong computer skills. Must be able to report audit findings to all levels of management and communicate problem areas.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Apply understanding of CMMI requirements across the collaborative network.
  • Manage multiple audit schedules unique to each program and organization for up to 3 years per program.
  • Conduct and participate in root cause and corrective action discussions to ensure the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Serve/host an external audit for both a second party (customer) and third party (certifying body).
  • Ability to walk programs through requirements of each process to properly align the program with the QMS/processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure a comprehensive understanding of quality process requirements.
  • Establish and foster a quality culture dedicated to excellence and Leidos values.
  • Plan and oversee quality audit activities for Defense Sector programs and facilities to ensure higher program performance at the enterprise level.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, and corporate requirements through sector-wide audits.
  • Facilitate the implementation of practices compliant with AS9100, ISO 9001, CMMI-DEV, CMMI-SVC.
  • Ensure that the Defense Sector maintains an effective quality management system, by reporting on audit metrics that affect the enterprise.
  • Conduct independent audits, ensuring compliance and fostering continual improvement.
  • Ensure resolution of internal and external audit findings promptly through root cause analysis and corrective measures.
  • Address escalated quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct trend analysis at sector and program levels, implementing measures for enterprise maturation.
  • Perform deep dives to analyze program issues, facilitating containment and lessons learned.
  • Review contract deliverables for conformance with requirements and quality standards.
  • Lead structured improvement activities for continual enhancement at sector and program levels.
  • Participate in formal post-award reviews, mitigate risks, and ensure product and service quality.
  • Lead integration of acquired organizations for quality management system compliance and process alignment.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and management staff at all organizational levels, including senior management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with 4-8 years of prior relevant work experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of prior relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of experience will be considered. Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 standards and expertise in navigating the structure of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Must have worked in an environment where the candidate participated in auditing of requirements.
  • Must be able to read and interpret procedures, work instructions, drawings, assembly schematics, and specifications.
  • Must be able to work full-time, 5-days per week, 8-hours per shift.
  • Must be able to accommodate overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Some travel is required, typically no more than 10 percent.
  • Knowledge of contract requirements and DFARs etc.
  • Must have computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office as well as Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen and able to obtain/maintain a final Top Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and auditing experience of Government and industry regulations such as FARs, DFARS, MIL-STDs, IPC, SAE, ASTM, and others preferred.

  • Knowledge/understanding of special processes (NDE, Welding, Painting, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating suppliers’ quality processes and procedures is also preferred.
  • Ability and knowledge to participate in a CMMI appraisal as a team member.
  • Software Quality & Software Auditing experience is a benefit.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
