Leidos seeks an Industrial Energy Advisor to both market and support energy-efficiency projects with large industrial businesses in the Massachusetts & Rhode Island regions. This exciting position offers a very unique career opportunity for a dynamic person with excellent outreach, sales, communication and organizational skills to promote energy efficiency projects to large industrial customers. 

The person in this position will broadly market Energy Efficiency programs to large commercial and industrial customers and will require the ability to identify efficiency opportunities, as well as the technical ability to calculate energy savings, maintain customer relationships, and deliver presentations. The candidate should have a high level of knowledge of building systems, industrial systems, construction practices, and/or the energy efficiency industry. Must be highly motivated, well organized, self-starting, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and work well in a team setting.

**This role will be a hybrid schedule (remote/in-person), with 2 - 3 days required for in-person site visits to Framingham MA or Providence RI.**

The ideal candidate must be familiar with and have the ability to make energy efficiency recommendations for the following type of systems:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support project management coordination between utility representatives, customers, contractors and internal staff

  • Provide excellent customer service with exceptional follow through on tasks and audit reports

  • Support commercial and industrial energy audits with the support and direction of an Engineering Manager

  • Coordinate project management efforts among utility representatives, customers, contractors, and internal teams.

  • Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring thorough follow-up on tasks and audit reports.

  • Assist with commercial and industrial energy audits under the guidance of an Engineering Manager.

  • Develop project “workbooks” with energy analysis and savings calculations.

  • Provide excellent customer service with exceptional follow through on tasks and audit reports

  • Market Insights: Identify energy-saving opportunities for large commercial and industrial customers.

  • Technical Expertise: Calculate energy savings, analyze building and industrial systems, and recommend efficiency improvements.

  • Client Relationships: Maintain strong connections with clients, ensuring exceptional service and follow-through.

  • Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations to showcase energy solutions.

  • Knowledge Base: High proficiency in building systems, industrial processes, and energy efficiency practices.

  • Technical Savvy: Familiarity with various systems, including:

    • Compressed Air

    • Chilled Water (Process and Comfort)

    • HVAC Configurations

    • Building Envelopes

    • Hydraulic Systems

    • Vacuum Systems

    • Ovens (Drying, Paint, Baking, Heat Treat)

    • Thermal Oxidizers

    • Lighting

    • AC and DC Motors

    • Heat Recovery

    • Boilers

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelors of Science Engineering with 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience or, a Master’s Degree with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. This prior experience may be in a multitude of capacities including experience in assessing building controls, retro commissioning, HVAC systems, Industrial Process Systems and Metering and Verification.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and statistical knowledge and skills using Excel.

  • This position requires a valid driver’s license and physical ability to perform field verification of pre and post installation of energy efficiency measures. 

  • Ability to be self-starting—demonstrate initiative---including the ability to collaborate well in a supportive team environment.  

  • Experience in Industrial/Manufacturing energy assessments and audits preferred.

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience in energy assessments and audits

Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
