Description

The Asset Management Specialist supports the SEC ISS contract by maintaining accurate, end-to-end accountability of SEC IT assets through electronic discovery and asset tracking tools. This role performs daily review, verification, and reconciliation activities to keep hardware, software, and endpoint asset records current across the full lifecycle. The specialist develops operational and compliance reporting that supports service delivery performance, audit readiness, and lifecycle decisions. The position works closely with Customer Service Desk, Endpoint Management, and related teams to sustain inventory integrity and mission continuity. 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Asset Discovery and Inventory Accuracy 

  • Operate and maintain electronic asset discovery tools (e.g., RFID, CompuTrace, BigFix) to identify and track SEC IT assets. 

  • Perform recurring discovery reviews to validate asset existence, ownership, configuration, and status. 

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between discovered assets and system-of-record inventory data. 

  • Maintain accurate mapping of devices to users, locations, and operational status. 

 

Asset Lifecycle Management 

  • Maintain full asset lifecycle accountability for receiving, distribution, control, inventory, and disposal of SEC IT assets. 

  • Process adds, moves, changes, and decommission actions to keep lifecycle records current. 

  • Coordinate with Service Desk and Endpoint teams to ensure provisioning, replacement, and retirement events are accurately reflected. 

  • Support endpoint asset lifecycle tracking for deployment, maintenance, and retirement reporting. 

 

Verification, Reporting, and Compliance 

  • Perform routine verification and reconciliation of hardware/software inventories and related asset data. 

  • Generate scheduled and ad hoc reports on inventory accuracy, lifecycle status, and compliance indicators. 

  • Maintain complete documentation and evidence to support audits and operational reviews. 

  • Escalate unresolved data integrity gaps and support corrective action tracking. 

 

Operational Coordination and Process Improvement 

  • Align asset management activities with incident/request workflows and SEC support processes. 

  • Follow and maintain defined procedures for asset review, validation, and reporting. 

  • Identify opportunities to improve discovery coverage, data quality, and reporting efficiency through standardization and automation. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • This position is restricted to U.S. citizens only. Applicants must not hold dual citizenship with any other country to be eligible for work under this contract.

  • High school diploma and 3+ years experience. In lieu of degree, additional experience may be required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust.

  • At least 3+ years of specialized experience managing and supporting electronic discovery tools for asset management (e.g., Radio-frequency Identification (RFID), CompuTrace, and BigFix). 

  • Experience performing day-to-day activities required to manage and maintain the accuracy of assets using electronic discovery tools for review, verification, and reporting. 

  • Experience supporting asset lifecycle accountability, including receiving, distribution, control, inventory, and disposal activities. 

  • Electronic discovery and asset tracking tools (RFID, CompuTrace, BigFix) 

  • Asset inventory review, verification, reconciliation, and reporting 

  • IT asset lifecycle data management and accuracy control 

  • Documentation and audit-support reporting for asset operations 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience supporting IT operations on a federal civilian agency contract. 

  • Experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) and license reconciliation activities. 

  • Familiarity with ITIL-aligned service management practices in enterprise support environments. 

  • Experience using scripting or automation (e.g., PowerShell/SQL) to improve asset data quality and reporting. 

  • Experience supporting audit readiness and compliance reporting for federal IT environments. 

  • IAITAM CHAMP (or equivalent IT Asset Management certification) 

  • ITIL 4 Foundation 

  • CompTIA Security+

Pay Range:

Pay Range $45,500.00 - $82,250.00
