The Performance and Readiness Division of Leidos is currently looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the Diagnostics and Surveillance Department, Naval Medical Research Center, Silver Spring, MD.

The Administrative Assistant will perform duties and help maintain the operations of the Department, which conducts basic through advanced research to support the detection, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases of military significance.

Primary Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate shall:

  • Coordinate, schedule, and track various processes and documents (administrative, financial, and logistical) in support of all research projects in the Department.

  • Route technical documentation through scientific review, travel approval, purchasing, public affairs, contracts or publication processes, as required.

  • Maintain project budgets and ensure periodic spending updates are provided to project sponsors.

  • Follow Department administrative procedures to ensure consistent support is provided to all research projects.

  • Provide update briefings to Department Head of detailed project status, procurement actions, etc. as required.

  • Complete photocopying, compile printouts (briefing packages, audit readiness support, etc.), scan documents, upload audit or financial documents and assist with Department administration.

  • Schedule, coordinate, and plan meetings and conferences (on-site, off-site, and via telecommunication).

  • Organize, document and schedule for various projects or audit as directed.

  • Manage purchasing and logistics with administrative requirements as directed.

  • Assist in the administrative preparation of technical reports, summaries, and protocols.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree is required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience.

  • The candidate will be required to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level.  Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level.

  • Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with scientific terminology and a laboratory environment is preferred.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI/PII compliance, etc. is highly desired.

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $44,200.00 - $79,900.00
