The National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC) Division of the Digitial Modernization business area currently has an opening for a Software Engineer. This position will be part of a dynamic team working to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Oklahoma City at their Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center location.

The Software Engineer will provide the AJW-142 Long Range Radar (AJW-142) software engineering services at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC).  NOTE:  This position requires the employee to be onsite for all work duties.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance secure software applications and systems.
  • Integrate new software into evolving operational environments.
  • Analyze user needs to craft efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Provide software support for development and maintenance of national and local level databases.
  • Software maintenance, software development and software changes skills are required.

  • Work with an integrated team of developers, software engineers, cybersecurity engineers, database administrators, and system architects.
  • Must be able to plan and prioritize personal tasking and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Must be an independent thinker, capable of performing high quality work, both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment.
  • Prior experience developing solutions to customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires BS degree and 2 to 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
  • Experience with Cyber security analysis and remediation.
  • Experience working with multiple programming languages.
  • Detailed knowledge of the NAS and specialized experience with facilities, surveillance, and navigation aids commonly used throughout the NAS is required.
  • Radar knowledge including, but not limited to, Common Air Route Surveillance Radar (CARSR), Air Route Surveillance Radar Model 4 (ARSR-4), and the ARSR -4 replacement in Hawaii (ARSR4R-H).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
