Leidos is seeking a unique set of skills, someone with experience as a senior staff writer who also creates high-quality oral presentation slides, both for large Federal contracts proposals. The Senior Staff Writer / Slide Engineer should have experience with traditional U.S. Government and FEDSIM proposals. Whether creating content for a written volume or scripts or slides for orals presentations, you will support Leidos' largest, most strategic bids across the enterprise working with leadership, solution architects, subject matter experts, and artists to develop compelling and compliant products. Primary Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a collaborative team to clearly articulate solutions and strategy, approach to performing the work, experience, and winning messages.
- Apply communication and interviewing skills to gather needed information from internal and external personnel.
- Write clear, compliant, compelling, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections—translate complex ideas into easily understandable text.
- Working with technical leads, partners, and graphics teams to capture messaging emphasizing key differentiators, proof points, partner roles, and key personnel details in slide content creation.
- Identify and help implement improvements to enhance proposal quality.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 12+ total years of professional experience or 10+ years with a master’s degree.
- At least 5 years of experience working as a proposal writer and/or slide developer responding to federal government solicitations valued in excess of $100 million.
- Experience working on FEDSIM proposals.
- Proven experience creating oral slide decks for Federal proposals within the last 5 years.
- Evidence of a successful track record of high quality, high scoring proposals.
- Demonstrated success capturing and communicating technical, management, transition, staffing, and/or corporate experience information for complex efforts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Willingness to work onsite during critical proposal periods.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience using Generative AI tools to support writing compelling and compliant proposals.
- Active SECRET or Top-Secret clearance and eligibility for SCI.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
