Summary

• 
  Educator Role: Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates educational activities based upon the needs of the staff, unit, division and organizational priorities.


• 
  Leader Role: Participates in and provides for professional development activities.


• 
  Change Agent Role: Facilitates and serves as a change agent: The position will support continued hardwiring processes to improve organizational metrics, clinical effectiveness, and patient satisfaction in their assigned sphere of responsibility.


• 
  Clinical Role: The Education Specialist and Nursing Leadership are partners in leading the nursing clinical practice area. Assists in coordinating and guiding clinical activities of nurses within a practice area. Facilitates the critical thinking skills of clinic.


• 
  Consultant Role: Organizes, develops work plans and facilitates projects to focus on educational initiatives in department and system wide for oncology service line.

Qualifications/Requirements: 

• Seasoned professional knowledge; equivalent to a Master's degree; knowledge in more than one discipline


• BS in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's required.


• Previous education/teaching experience preferred.


• OCN certification required or willing to sit for exam upon hire.


• 3-5 years related experience 


• Maryland Registered Nurse License


• American Heart Association CPR Certification
