This occupation requires: the construction and repair of wooden buildings, additions, partitions, floors, ceilings, walls, furniture and equipment, rough or finish carpentry work on temporary or permanent structures; installation of carpet and other floor coverings; opening, repairing, installing, recombinating and adjusting of locks and safes; duplicating and fitting of keys; installation, repair and maintenance of various mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electro-mechanical and automatic door hardware and entry devices. WORK PERFORMED
Assemble and setup equipment following engineering instructions and production illustrations such as architect, applicable state, municipal and underwriters specifications, codes and ordinances, trade practice, blueprints, manufacturer's specifications, service
manuals and bulletins, or other engineering-approved written technical data or oral instructions. Work from oral instructions for the purposes of assignments and direction. Determine the sequence of construction, and plan job by pre-job walk-downs and translating preliminary plans to on-site exact dimensions. Making material lists and working sketches of a level of difficulty which does not require engineer plans. Perform rough construction consisting of excavation, erecting batter boards and form work, mixing, pouring and finishing concrete; brick and block laying, structural determinants of metal and woodframe design for joists, beams, girders, planks, studs, bracing and bridging; framing of windows and doors; roof framing and pitch criteria such as rafter span, ridge collar beam and gable buttressing; framing of walls and partitions, insulation, sheathing and siding; structural components of stairs such as treads, risers, stringers and banisters. Install/remove portable office partitions, wood and metal fences or gates. Perform finish carpentry consisting of wood, metal and plastic trims, plastering, sanding, hanging gypsum board, installing suspended ceilings, veneers, shelves, ceramic tile,
cabinets and plastic laminate counter tops; flooring parquet, carpet, vinyl and linoleum tiles and base boards; hanging doors and installing prefabricated partitions. Mount door signs. Perform such typical operations as decoding and opening locks by use of lock picking
tools, dismantling, or other methods. Repair by replacing worn or broken parts or adjust/recombinate to several different key variations. Repair, install, or change locks,
safes, and vault combinations, including forced entry of safes and vaults by electrical drill electro-arc, thermal lance, or by non-forced entry methods such as manipulation or use of safe dialers. Perform combination changes, set-up, and make new coding for master and
submaster lock systems. Maintain complete key and lock files as required. Layout, fabricate, construct, install and assemble chassis, panels and equipment enclosures for electronic locking devices for troubleshooting and fault isolation. Connect/disconnect equipment power cords and A/C modules.
Basic Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of building materials, lumber types and grades and masonry construction methods. • Ability to calculate board footage, cement requirements and hydration. • Ability to apply a complete knowledge of locksmith theory and practice, including construction characteristics of locks and use of key code books and/or computerized reference materials. • Ability to use shop mathematics including trigonometry, arithmetic involving decimals and fractions; read and interpret various lock diagrams and blueprints; set-up and operate key duplicating and code machines and their accessories.
• Requires ability to interact well with all personnel, work well with little supervision, and be a self starter.
• Must have ability to work at various heights on gantries, tower and poles; to work in confined areas.
• Normally requires a high school education, or the equivalent; four years carpentry experience or four years of experience in a commercial lock shop (or the equivalent
experience in government or military service); and ability to train in carpentry or locksmithing as required.
• Ability to use tools and equipment necessary to perform work described herein.
• Recertification in the use of these tools and equipment is required to retain this job classification.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to use computer systems.
• This classification performs any duties of the Carpenter-Maintenance (Code 374-9) and the Locksmith-Industrial (Code 444-3).

Lumber and wood substitutes such as masonite, micarta, tenite, plywood, wall board; corrugated iron (as attached to materials described) and metal doors, frames, studs and
partitions. Materials worked with: Including, but not limited to: lubricants, wood and cement products, wax, wire netting, glass, plexiglas, laminates, epoxy, adhesives, varnishes, compressed air and cleaning fluids. Tools used: Micrometers, standard shop hand tools and locksmith tools used in repairing locks and in fitting and making keys, cement cutting and finishing tools, cement saws, jack hammers, drill presses, bench lathe, disk grinders, powder actuated tools, power saws, sanders, climbing equipment and tools and Environmental (O2/CO2/explosive air) testers, builders levels and transits.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week . > The base range for this position in California is $28.38 - $51.50.
