This position is for a Cyber Security Engineer on a program based at a LM facility in the Valley Forge area. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic Cyber engineering team that designs, develops, documents, tests, and maintains full spectrum cyber solutions. As a Cyber Security Engineer supporting this program, your responsibilities will include: • Proficient in both Linux and Windows operating systems. • Assist with vulnerability scanning, patching, and report generation. • Support configuration management and system setups using Ansible. • Implement the Risk Management Framework (RMF) as outlined in NIST SP 800-53. • Create Bodies of Evidence, including security test plans, checklists, and STIG reports. • Facilitate virtual machine hardening and ensure STIG compliance. • Provide hands-on support to development teams in achieving cybersecurity objectives for program and operational assets. • Evaluate and analyze system architecture and security designs relevant to the cybersecurity domain. • Apply cybersecurity engineering practices to enhance data processing, configuration, transport, and usability for mission operations. • Provide configuration and implementation support for deployed security tools. • Participate in peer reviews of policies and guidance related to mission requirements. • Support working group meetings with the customer, as needed. • Collaborate frequently with customer stakeholders and site personnel. • Assist in cyber risk assessment activities, including threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and mitigation strategy evaluation. • Coordinate with cybersecurity professionals, system architects, and developers to support security solution development. • Utilize cybersecurity methods, techniques, tools, and capabilities effectively.
Basic Qualifications:
• Thorough understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems. • Experience in vulnerability scanning and report generation. • Familiarity with Ansible. • Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53. • Demonstrated experience in generating Bodies of Evidence, such as security test plans, checklists, and STIG reports. • Experienced in virtual machine hardening and ensuring STIG compliance. • Security+ certification. • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
Desired Skills:
•Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or other networking products
• Possess an approved DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT Level II (CISSP, CAP, etc.).
• Strong understanding of System Security Engineering (SSE) principals and process.
•Advanced Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) NIST SP 800-53
• Understanding of Windows Server Operating Systems (i.e., 2008 R2/2012/2016/2018/2022)
• Knowledge of Linux Administration RedHat 7.X, 8.X, 9.X)
• Familiarity with cloud-based services and providers
• Understanding of cloud technologies Docker/Rancher, Kubernetes, API's, Jenkins, GitHub • Understanding of Jira, Confluence, and Gitlab
