Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret the surgery schedule and take a lead role in determining instrumentation and staff work flow.
  • Demonstrates an advanced understanding of the procedures/policies required for decontamination and terminal sterilization of instrumentation while instituting protective measures to assure proper decontamination and sterilization.
  • Demonstrates operational knowledge and technical competence when using equipment and supplies and can precept new employees in cleaning instruments/equipment/supplies properly and stores them securely.
  • Maintains instrumentation/equipment in good working order and reports malfunctions or broken items or unsafe instrumentation to appropriate personnel.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of decontaminator, ultrasonic, washer sterilizer, hand washing delicate, flexible, power instrumentation, steam, plasma-hydrogen peroxide, paracetic acid methods of stylization.
  • Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.
  • Cooperates and interacts with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to “service”.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Job Requirements

  • One (1) year of previous job-related experience in Central Supply and/or Sterile Processing experience in hospital or clinic setting
  • National Certification in Sterile Processing or equivalent
