- Location: On-site position @ MacNeal Hospital, Berwyn, IL
About the Job
In this role, the Accounting Specialist will be responsible for reviewing billing reports and queues, analyze and correct laboratory billing errors. The AS will partner with Hospital Billing/Professional Billing and Lab teams to discuss and address issues for Sunquest, Copath, FIN, & Epic.
Here's what you'll do
- Payment posting to FIN Laboratory Billing system, receive and process payments, Specimen Registration, claims reports, System billing maintenance; Charge reconciliation, analyze root causes of Lab & Pathology dept Billing errors, research/ discuss/ implement resolution.
- Must be able to multi-task and properly prioritize work in order to ensure prompt attention is given to high priority tasks.
- Must be able to communicate well and handle challenges which may be present in a fast paced, customer service focused environment, such as changing priorities, multiple requests and tight deliverable deadlines.
Here's what you'll need
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Specify Degree(s): Billing, finance, Laboratory
- 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
- Experience with HIS/LIS computer systems, working knowledge of word processor and spreadsheet programs such as Word and Excel.
Preferred:
- Associates degree
- Clinical Laboratory Experience
- Sunquest, Copath, FIN, & Epic
