Role Purpose Statement

 As the Materials Supervisor, you'll be supervising a team responsible for purchasing, receiving, and delivering internal stock. This means as the Supervisor you'll be ensuring seamless operations and meeting the diverse needs of our valued customers.

Main Accountabilities

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Oversee all aspects of inventory management, from forecasting through internal delivery, to ensure financial and customer requirements are met.
  • Control food costs and continually compare actual to billed costs
  • Determine par levels and order quantities based on airline specifications, menus, and vendor lead time and ensure the team maintains proper inventory levels
  • Manage personnel who purchase, receive, put away, and deliver internal stock
  • Coordinate month-end inventory and reporting processes. Review results and create action plans for variances
  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, and directed and that all delivery times are being met timely
  • Conduct daily work group meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies' standards (for example: Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), etc.)
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
  • Other duties as deemed necessary

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics preferred or equivalent experience
  • One to three years of experience in materials management, purchasing, inventory, and/or warehouse management is strongly preferred
  • One to three years of supervisory experience is strongly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing and supply chain management
  • Proven success in improving work processes, leading change, and role models positive behaviors as well as change agent skills in a complex and fast-paced environment
  • Established ability to identify the vision and produce goals with realistic plans to achieve them
  • Ability to interact with employees, customers, and vendors at all levels
  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Excel and SAP MM a plus
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
