You will do research, development and optimization of power converters while collaborating with firmware, mechanical and manufacturing teams to implement technologies that define Lucid powertrain.  The Role:Analysis and design trade-off studies of electrical architecture and power converter topologies Design and build hardware of power electronics converters for use in automotive applicationsStart to finish ownership of hardware – from specification to design, component selection, prototype, testing, validation, and high-volume manufacturingCollaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, firmware engineers to design and validate power converters.Work with manufacturing team to ensure efficient and high-yield production of the power converter.Qualifications:BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering. PhD preferred.Strong understanding of power electronics topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC)Hands-on hardware experience in power converter (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC) designGood understanding of power conversion topologies and control strategies, switching device characteristics and losses, gate driving circuit design, magnetics, capacitors etc.Good experience with design of analog/digital circuitsFamiliar with schematic capture and circuit simulation toolsExperience in PCB layout.Proficiency with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Network analyzers, Signal Generators etc.)Experience with Design for Manufacturing and DFMEAFamiliar with electromagnetic compatibilityEducation:BS plus 5 years/MS plus 3 years or PhD in Electrical Engineering. Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
