Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Real-Time Payments Platform Manager to oversee our Zelle person-to-person payment platform. The ideal candidate will ensure its smooth and continuous operation while leading and managing multiple teams involved in Real-Time Payments and Transaction Processing. This role demands a proactive approach to managing and enhancing our real-time online transaction processing system in a 24/7 environment.Primary Responsibilities:Oversee the operation of the Zelle person-to-person payment platform.Lead and manage multiple teams and/or scrums focused on Real-Time Payments and Transaction Processing.Manage and enhance the real-time online transaction processing system to ensure continuous operation in a 24/7 environment.Stay up-to-date with technological advancements and trends in real-time payment processing.Collaborate with the development team to maintain and evolve the system, including technologies such as Java, Angular, mainframe relational databases (currently Oracle, transitioning to SQL), with a potential future migration to the cloud.Consult with client management to analyze short and long-range business requirements, recommending innovations that anticipate future changes.Build and maintain positive client relationships.Monitor industry and vendor application trends, initiating necessary changes and conducting vendor and product analysis.Oversee the design process based on business and technology requirements, managing escalated issues and concerns.Stay informed about external activities that may impact the team or client environment.Provide job growth and career development for staff members through training plans, guidance, and knowledge sharing.Exercise managerial authority regarding staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.Education and Experience Required:Minimum of Associates’ degree and with 9 years’ technology or systems management/leadership experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 9 years’ technology or systems management/leadership experienceProven experience in managing real-time payment platforms.Strong leadership skills with experience managing multiple teams.Expertise in real-time online transaction processing systems.Proficiency in technologies such as Java, Angular, mainframe relational databases (Oracle, SQL).Experience with cloud migration is a plus.Excellent client management and relationship-building skills.Ability to stay current with industry trends and technological advancements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and organizational skills.#LI-JB3M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
