As a member of the Support Services team, the AV & Classroom Technology Manager provides leadership, vision, management, and direct support for technology-equipped classrooms, conference rooms, and event spaces. This is a manager-doer position that brings knowledge of best practices and innovation in the AV space and works with constituents across the institution to understand their needs, as well as troubleshooting in spaces. In partnership with the academic technology staff and with input from the Classroom Committee, design classroom standards. Develops and communicates plans for replacement cycles and coordinates new builds. In addition, this position will manage vendor relationships, coordinate builds, troubleshoot and test spaces, and provide back-up and assistance for campus events. The person in this position will plan, manage, and track the AV budget in collaboration with the Associate Director.

This is an onsite opportunity that works standard business hours Monday through Friday. Occasional night and weekend work may be required.

About The Department:

We are your first contact for help with your technology questions. ITS provides project management, systems consulting, software implementation and maintenance, software systems management services, database management and data management and reporting. We also manage, design, and plan the network, the telecommunications system, the central servers, information security architecture and services.

  • Provides overall leadership and vision for technology-equipped spaces in partnership with campus constituents. Develops and continuously improves classroom and conference room build recommendations. Responsible for hiring, training, developing, and managing the AV Engineer.
  • Plans, manages and tracks AV replacement cycle work and budget. Plans cyclical work for AV replacements and installations, managing multiple builds at once. Manages vendor relationships.
  • Provides troubleshooting, repair, testing on technology-equipped spaces.
  • Provides project coordination for recurring and new computing and AV initiatives, including annual computing and AV replacements and upgrades.

  • Bachelor s Degree required.
  • 3-5 years experience leading a team in a technical support or customer service environment required. Experience in an academic environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of event space technology, Extron knowledge preferred.
  • Experience planning and managing a budget.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships, plan and manage several builds at once.

Compensation:

The annual salary for this position will be $64,500-$67,500, depending on experience.
