Responsibilities:
1. Establish and implement product design and manufacturing changes for cost reduction and improved product performance.
2. Improve product yields of legacy products through redesign and part specification efforts.
3. Resolve product performance issues as a result of design or component limitations.
4. Work with Test Engineering with the training of operators and technicians on products.
5. Revision of project data, including schematic drawings, mechanical sketches, and bills of material.
6. Design circuits, systems or structures as required by the sustaining design project manager.
7. Calibration, data collection, and environmental testing of prototypes.
8. Technical support and sustaining engineering for manufacturing operations.
9. Technical support to purchasing for vendor or parts selection.
10. Other responsibilities as determined by the Product & Process Engineering Manager.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of experience with demonstrated technical knowledge of circuits and mechanical aspects of resistive products or instrument design.
- RF circuit design, troubleshoot, and analysis to resolve problems and improve product quality and/or functionality.
- Familiarity with electronic manufacturing processes, particularly Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and final assembly test.
- Good troubleshooting and bench skills.
- Strong knowledge of analysis and problem-solving.
- Ability to use modern simulation tools for circuit and field analysis.
- AutoCAD or other Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience is helpful.
