Our client, a Texas-based company with over 30 years of experience in system integration for industrial and municipal applications, is seeking a motivated Controls/SCADA Project Engineer to join their team. With specialization in SCADA, security and control, wireless equipment, instrumentation, and fiber installations, they provide system customization, technical support, and tailored product manufacturing for new and existing applications.

 

Job Title: Controls Engineer

Location: McKinney, TX

Pay Range: $80,000-$95,000/year

 

Key Accountabilities




  • Integrate control systems for the water and wastewater industry, including installation and maintenance of SCADA equipment, PLCs, and communications circuits.
  • Program Modicon PLCs using Control Expert, Unity, Concept, and ProWORX 32, as well as Rockwell Automation software, including Logix Designer, Studio5000, RSLogix5000, and RSLogix500.
  • Develop GUI/HMI software using Wonderware, Intellution, RSView32, FactoryTalk ME/SE, VTScada, and Ignition.
  • Design panel and shop drawings and apply strong knowledge of relay logic and wiring diagrams.
  • Provide “concept to completion” engineering support and direction, ensuring efficient project delivery.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in controls, SCADA systems, and PLC programming.
  • Strong experience with SCADA equipment installation, Modicon and Rockwell Automation PLC programming, and GUI/HMI software development.
  • Expertise in panel design and understanding of relay logic, wiring diagrams, and instrumentation for level, flow, pressure, and analytical instruments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a team-oriented, flexible mindset.
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, providing direction and support for “concept to completion” projects.
