Transport Specialist – Machine Moving & Rigging
Pay: $26–$32/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (must stay onsite until job is complete)
Status: Temp-to-Hire (3–6 months, performance-based)
Overview
We’re seeking a hands-on Transport Specialist to support a Machine Moving & Rigging team moving high-value industrial, lab, and manufacturing equipment. This role is highly physical and customer-facing, combining machine moving, rigging support, and transportation coordination. The ideal candidate brings heavy equipment transport experience, strong DOT knowledge, and a safety-first mindset.
Important Role Note
This position begins focused on machine moving and rigging work. While a Class A CDL is required at hire, driving responsibilities will begin after successful temp-to-hire conversion, following internal driving and safety training.
What You’ll Do
- Support machine moving and rigging projects involving high-value equipment (lab, medical, injection molding, and manufacturing machinery)
- Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment with precision to minimize risk of damage
- Operate forklifts, rigging equipment, and transport vehicles (rigging training provided)
- Perform physical work daily: climbing in/out of trailers, handling heavy cables, securing loads, working on your feet
- Assist with equipment staging, preparation, and basic installation support onsite
- Participate in job walks to assess access, load planning, and transport feasibility
- Support DOT and CDOT compliance, including inspections, permits, logs, and documentation
- Assist with vehicle and equipment registration, inspection, and maintenance tracking
- Work directly with customers and internal teams to ensure safe, on-time project execution
- Contribute to improving transport processes and reducing logistical errors
- Help train or mentor new team members as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record
- 3+ years of heavy equipment transport or industrial logistics experience preferred
- Working knowledge of DOT/CDOT regulations and transport permits
- Forklift experience or certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfortable with manual labor and physically demanding work
- Strong communication skills and professional customer presence
- Flexible and accountable—jobs run until work onsite is complete
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting
- Ability to lift 45+ lbs regularly
