Sanitation Technician – 3rd Shift (6-Month Assignment)

Pay: $20.50 per hour
Shakopee, MN

Our client, a leading food manufacturer in Shakopee, is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Sanitation Technicians to support a temporary coverage need (approximately 6 months). This role is essential to maintaining food safety and production readiness in a cold, physically demanding manufacturing environment.

This is a temporary assignment only and is not intended to convert to a permanent role.

What will you be doing?

  • Perform sanitation and cleaning of production equipment following SOPs, GMPs, SSOPs, OSHA, and HACCP guidelines

  • Wet wash production lines and rooms in a cold manufacturing environment

  • Operate and maintain specialized sanitation and cleaning equipment

  • Complete required documentation (sanitation logs, set-up forms, swab forms)

  • Communicate progress, delays, or non-routine issues to the Sanitation Group Lead or Supervisor

  • Monitor sanitation supplies and notify leadership when replenishment is needed

  • Wear required PPE at all times and work safely

  • Remain flexible to assist in other production roles during slower production periods


What do you bring?

  • 6 months to 1 year of sanitation experience in a manufacturing or food production setting preferred

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately

  • Basic math skills

  • Ability to read and follow SDS guidelines for cleaning chemicals

  • Comfortable working in a cold environment for the entire shift

  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role


Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Cold work environment (may include refrigerated areas)

  • Physically demanding role requiring:

    • Standing for extended periods

    • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and crouching

    • Regular lifting up to 15 lbs

    • Occasional lifting up to 45–50 lbs with assistance (hoist, pallet jack, or cart)

  • Work areas may be wet, humid, noisy, and multi-level (stairs required)

  • Must be able to work overnight / third shift hours consistently
