Job Summary:
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for processing weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly payrolls for approximately 800 employees, both hourly and salaried. This role involves managing payroll through UKG software, reconciling benefit payments, and ensuring compliance with multi-state regulations across multiple states. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a drive to enhance payroll processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Administer and process multiple payrolls (weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly) for a workforce of about 800 employees using UKG software.
  • Benefit Reconciliation: Reconcile benefit payments and ensure accurate deductions and contributions for various employee benefits.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations across 33 states. Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records. Verify employee information and process changes in a timely manner.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze payroll reports for management and finance teams. Address any discrepancies or issues that arise.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, Managed Service Team and other departments to ensure alignment and accuracy in payroll processing.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role, with expertise in managing multi-state payroll and benefit reconciliation.
  • Software Knowledge: Proficiency in UKG software or similar payroll systems. Familiarity with payroll processing software and tools is essential.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance across multiple states.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels.
  • Self-Starter: Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) are a plus.
