Job Summary:

The Director of Business Intelligence (DBI) directs and oversees high level strategic and tactical decisions for business intelligence tools and applications. This role facilitates organizational data strategies for governance, design, implementation, integration and usage. This role leads the design, build, and maintenance of an enterprise data warehouse and associated business intelligence applications and identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Additionally, the DBI ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities. The DBI solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The DBI requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

Responsibilities:
Solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision makers.
Leads end-to-end project delivery and teams aimed at identifying, analyzing, developing and implementing business intelligence metrics.
Describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information.
Makes decisions typically related to the implementation of new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and supporting technical/operational procedures and processes, and implements strategic plans, drives goals and objectives, and improves performance.
Designs, creates, tests and maintains a portfolio of reports, scorecards and dashboards.
Use business intelligence, enterprise data management, and forward-thinking skills to ensure MCC's strategy and the tactical plan aligns to a sustainable model for current state and trends into the future of analytics.
Manages and supports, through continuous improvement, the Business Intelligence functions, the team members, external vendors and is a leader in the utilization of data and reporting across MCC.
Supports the team's technical and functional initiatives and toolset definition and acquisition by ensuring process, resource and budget planning and allocation.
Proactively identify business challenges and opportunities through data analysis, and work with business leaders to find strategic solutions.
Lead the creation and management of an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) while continuing to define and deliver new capabilities in end user access.
Participates in IT strategy planning, bringing expertise to all discussions and directions of IT related to business intelligence initiatives.
Responsible for the overall effectiveness of the program and project methodologies incorporating data management/reporting and the continued maturation of these within development life cycles.
Assumes fiscal responsibility including overall budget performance for the acquisition, development, installation, implementation and maintenance of the reporting system projects.
Ensure the accuracy and the integrity of the data by performing detailed data exploration and validation to identify trends, tendencies and anomalies.
Audits processes in data governance to promote data hygiene and to ensure data accuracy.
Develop, measure, and report on Key Performance Indicators for major company initiatives and departments.
Communicates with the user community on clinical systems projects, especially in relation to their goals, status and expected outcomes, as well as overall BI vision and strategies.
Evaluates new technologies, software, vendors that may provide opportunities for solutions or new applications necessary to accomplish institutional goals, objectives, and strategies particular to the BI department.
Focuses on continual development of team members through staff development, succession planning and coaching/mentoring.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
Master's degree in technology, business, or related field preferred.
5 years of technical experience in data analysis and intelligence.
5 years of experience in building, implementing, and optimizing business intelligence systems.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Ability to anticipate and be proactive around next steps in large initiatives simultaneously.
Knowledge of Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) operations and requirements preferred.
Experience with implementing and supporting Epic Reporting Tools, Microsoft Reporting tools both data and visualization.
Experience with Epic's Reporting Tools (i.e. Cogito, Caboodle, Radar, Reporting Workbench), Microsoft reporting tools (i.e. Power BI), Crystal Reports, and relational database structures and reporting (i.e. SQL)
Experience in Data Warehouse, Reporting, and Visualization IT experience in a management role responsible for managing reporting applications and data warehouse tools.
Experience with maintaining a data warehouse, design and implementation of BI processes including ETL and SQL development, and related policies.
Experience with the project management lifecycle as it relates to business intelligence.
Leadership experience collaborating with middle and senior management to build cross-organizational consensus, identify synergies and driving process and operational improvements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Knowledgeable in process improvement and metrics development.
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Good judgment as well as problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Travel among clinic locations and to community and business partners as needed.
Prolonged standing and walking
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
This will be a hybrid position and a private and noise free workspace will be required.
