Our rich diversity of people and ideas makes us a stronger, more innovative organization. We are looking for a Senior Estimator to join our team in the Pomona, CA area.The Senior Estimator will be a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced estimating concepts for mid to large scale Transmission and Substation construction projects of significant complexity. This position provides direct support to the project teams in the planning and execution of the job, to include determining scope of project, subcontractor needs, unit/man-hour figures for self-performed work, and project specific needs and requirements.The Senior Estimator will completely understand the business, its context, manage implications related to estimating and cost control, assist in leading the effort to ensure compliance with Henkels & McCoy’s established Project Management Methodology, and uphold safety and quality management protocols.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Estimator leads every level of the estimating process which includes reviewing of project and design related documents, attending pre-bid meetings, traveling to job locations to confirm project site conditions, and evaluate contract specifications and scope definition on bid opportunities. This position works with operations, project management, scheduling, and proposal staff to coordinate and manage pricing for multiple concurrent pricing efforts. This position also assists field personnel in developing and/or recommending change orders to scope as needed.This role will be intimately involved in the collection and analysis of project performance data which is used in the continuous improvement efforts to our estimating approach. This role is also responsible in compiling and presenting project and pricing data to company stakeholders at various levels for approval to finalize pricing submittals.The Senior Estimator provides leadership in the continuous improvement of methodology and/or selection of tools, approaches, and process enhancements using fundamentals of H&M Project Management practices.
