Position: Registered Nurse Medical Home Port

Location: Mayport Jacksonville, FL

Employment Status: Full-time

Compensation: Hourly, paid bi-weekly

Schedule: The NBHC operates from 6:15 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Shifts may vary, from 8.5 hours (including a 30-minute unpaid meal break) to 9 hours (including a 60-minute unpaid meal break) to ensure coverage.

Requirements:

Education: Possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited agency such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
Certification: Basic Life Support. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Experience: At least 12 classroom hours of continuing education within the preceding 24 months to maintain RN skills and knowledge

Job Summary:

Coordinate patient care with a wide array of healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes in clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness
Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice by adhering to all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF)
Perform physical exams and health histories
Provide health promotion, counseling, and education
Administer medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions
Direct and supervise the care provided by other healthcare professionals
Make patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel
Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and respond promptly in emergencies
Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans/actions for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization
Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate
Perform nursing services as identified in the official Task Order
Conduct research to support improved practice and patient outcomes
